Keep the environment on your host
Use a machine with SSH and the command-line tools your project needs.

Add the host to Cavreno, then open a shell or tmux session.

Use the session sidebar, choose a comfortable theme, and connect a hardware keyboard if you like.

Run the command-line tools installed on your remote host: your editor, Git, test runner, or coding agent. Cavreno provides the terminal connection and native workspace around them.
This is remote terminal access, not a local iPad build environment, graphical desktop, or browser IDE. The host must remain running and reachable.

Does my code run on iPad?
The commands you enter run on the remote SSH host. Your iPad displays the terminal and sends your input.
Can I use my usual terminal editor?
You can run terminal tools installed on your host. Compatibility can vary with an editor’s plugins, escape sequences, and custom keybindings.
Do I need a hardware keyboard?
No. Cavreno includes touch controls and supports the on-screen keyboard. A hardware keyboard is supported for longer typing sessions.
Can I work offline?
An active connection is needed to interact with the host. A tmux process can keep running remotely while your iPad is disconnected, but that does not make the terminal usable offline.
